Join us for a parent presentation, coffee, and conversation on Saturday, January 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Henry Puffer Elementary School in Downers Grove.

Cathy is a self-awareness expert, Zen Parenting Radio podcast co-host, and author focused on parenting and the personal empowerment. She’s a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Parent Coach, Certified Elementary School Teacher, Certified Yoga Teacher, and she teaches in the Sociology Department at Dominican University and Elmhurst College.

Registration is now open for Compass for Boys. Don't miss this exciting and fun-filled day for 4th and 5th grade boys. The goal of Compass for Boys (formerly HEROES) is to enhance fourth and fifth graders’ social emotional skills, including; self-awareness, managing emotions, problem solving, developing healthy relationship skills, becoming more empathic, and understanding power. This full-day workshop, being held at Henry Puffer Elementary School, starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m., and consists of small group break-out sessions which include mini-lessons, interactive experiences, team building challenges and action-packed games with the goal to provide boys with the opportunity to learn and share while having fun.  Exciting games, pizza, a backpack, and an "amazing race" style finale will be included in the fun day!

Compass for Girls is a fun full-day retreat geared specifically to fourth, fifth, and sixth grade girls. Participants spend time in small group break-out sessions led by professional counselors and social workers, and engage in topics and activities such as:

  • Creating self-awareness and practicing self-acceptance
  • Tackling tricky friendship topics 
  • Learning stress-relief and mindfulness techniques
  • Enjoying action-packed team challenges

Registration opens on January 18 at 9:00 a.m.
